Meet Sarah & Jeff
Hello! We are Jeff and Sarah. We have dreamed about starting our family for years and are excited that the journey has led us to adoption. Our hope is that this gives you a glimpse of the kind of parents we hope to be. Thank you for taking the time to get to know us.
Sarah grew up in Memphis, TN and Jeff in Clarksville, TN. We met on the first day of college and quickly, our friendship grew into love. After college, we spent seven years in Dallas, TX, got married there and moved back home to Tennessee in 2010. We have been together for 18 years and married for almost 12. We now live in a vibrant neighborhood in Nashville, close to parks, playgrounds, and right across the street from an elementary school.
We both have hearts for service and have found careers in local nonprofit ministries. Jeff serves with a nonprofit that provides healthcare for those in need. Sarah serves with a nonprofit that provides enrichment programs for children and helps college students grow in their leadership.
Jeff loves to be active - play tennis, run races with his mom, and hike at Radnor Lake. He volunteers with our church youth group and in an after school program. He has a twin brother, which can be confusing for our friends and family, because they look so much alike. Jeff reminds us all to see the best in others, to remain positive, and to love the world well. He will love our children unconditionally and catch them when they fall. He will make them laugh, hold them when they cry, and cheer for them when they succeed (probably a little too loudly!).
Sarah starts every morning with a good cup of coffee, loves going to the movies, never passes up the opportunity to see live music, and loves to sing. She is compassionate, nurturing, and committed - always there for her friends and family when she is needed. Sarah will make sure our children are cared for, loved, supported, and will be the biggest source of encouragement to them. She will make sure their talents and interests are nurtured and she will be their biggest advocate.
We have two dogs - Max, our 11-year-old labrador retriever, and Penny, our two-year-old labradoodle. Max loves to chase tennis balls, have his ears rubbed, and most of all, he loves to sleep. Penny can usually be found stealing shoes, cuddling on the couch, or trying (unsuccessfully) to play with Max. We are blessed with a supportive and tight-knit extended family. We love to travel, cook together, watch movies, and play board games—because we’re all pretty competitive. The thing we love most about our family is that we are genuinely supportive of each other. Everyone is excited about welcoming a child into our family through adoption. We also count our friends and church community as part of our extended family because of the love and support they offer to us. Many families in our church have been touched by adoption and we celebrate that our child will grow up alongside other children who have been adopted.
We hope that as you learn more about us, you will see how much we love each other and how much love we have to give to a child. Whatever your decision may be, know that we will be praying for you, hoping that God will provide you with the strength you need to take this next step. Through it all, we hope to take this adoption journey with you, establishing a life-long connection through love for this child.
