Meet Nikki & Brian
Hello! We are so grateful that you’ve taken the time to review our profile, and hope this snapshot begins to express our heartfelt desire to give our lives in love as adoptive parents. We can only imagine the flood of emotions you might be feeling as you read profiles about families such as ours. When we imagine a birthmother reviewing our profile, there is so much we want to say, yet a couple thoughts continue to resound for us over and over. “Thank you. You are making a self-giving act of love for your child.”
We are very excited to begin the adventure of parenthood. We met in college and married in 2005. Shortly after, we moved to Chicago where Brian attended graduate school. After returning home to Tennessee in 2008, Brian began serving churches in the middle Tennessee area as a pastor in the United Methodist Church. Nikki went back to school and received her Masters of Education, and began teaching elementary school in 2013. Nikki currently teaches 3rd grade in Dickson County. We look forward to helping our child grow and learn by reading books together daily, going to museums, and giving plenty of opportunities for hands on learning. Nikki looks forward to singing lullabies to a little one, while Brian is excited to share adventures from going to the park to camping.
We come from two very different family styles. Brian grew up as the second oldest in a large, blended family. Nikki grew up in a smaller Asian-American family as the oldest of three. Both of us remain close to our families, and enjoy spending birthdays, holidays, and free time with them. Both families are excited for us and the child we are waiting to welcome. We currently have five nieces, four nephews, and one great nephew that are equally excited to meet their new cousin.
We currently live in Nashville with our rat terrier, Mason. He is a sweet old dog who loves to be snuggled by anyone with an open lap. He also enjoys spending time with our nieces, nephews, and our friends’ children, especially if they want to go outside to play.
In our spare time, you will find Brian either mountain or road biking with friends. Nikki loves crafting of all kinds, but tends to spend most of her time crocheting while watching crime shows. Of course, Mason is curled up beside her. She can also be found playing the ukulele, a hobby she loves to share with the children in her life. Together, we love to play board games with friends and family.
We look forward to sharing our family traditions with our child. From game nights to making sushi together on Christmas Eve, and so many others…we look forward to experiencing life together and helping our child come to know how deeply they are loved.
