Meet James & Ondria

We know this is a strange…and a very country opening, but we figured that we don’t know you yet and you are just getting to know us, so why not start off with a friendly greeting?

We are thrilled that you paused a moment to scan our profile. To be honest, as we are writing this, we are nervous and excited at the same time. Nervous because of the unknown. Excited because through this process our lives will be changed forever. We can only imagine the whirlwind of emotions you must be experiencing right now. We’re prayerful that as you continue to learn about us, you will have peace and assurance as you make this decision.

Our names are Ondria and James Stevenson. We met in a very unconventional way. Online. She was in Arizona and he was in California. We spoke for a year before we even met face to face. Because we spent so much time getting to know each other over the phone, meeting each other face to face was just icing on the cake. Fast-forward to today; we have been married for 11 years, live in Tennessee and have a wonderful son, Michael.  We both love the music and activity of Nashville and have never felt more at home. We both work in Nashville; Ondria with the State of Tennessee as a program consultant. She has also worked with government programs for 10 years and previous roles with non-profit organizations and with the aging population. James has been a Human Resources professional for almost 20 years and is currently working in the corporate office for a restaurant chain. He is also a musician and plays the piano, saxophone and sings. We both are college graduates, Ondria with her Masters, so we strongly believe in education. Our Christian faith is also very important to us and believe that being involved in some aspect of church ministry is imperative.

As we mentioned before, we have one child who is 9 years old named Michael. Michael is funny and energetic and loves life. About three years after we had Michael we decided to have another child. As we struggled to become pregnant again we knew adoption was God’s plan for our second child. Michael has prayed every night for God to bless him with a brother or sister. His prayers continue to this day. He will make such an awesome big brother.

We know that this process can be a bit daunting, nerve-racking and very awkward. One may even say unconventional. In music, a chord is three separate notes (us, you and baby), that when played together, they create beautiful harmony. It is our prayer that as you learned a little bit about us and about our family, a chord was struck with you.

Our family is dedicated daily to praying for you, who are reading this note, that the Lord will guide you in the most important decision of your life. That He will provide you with peace, comfort and wisdom and that he will richly bless whatever family you choose.

Blessings to you and your little one,

James, Ondria and Michael
