Mark and Nancy
This is possibly the most difficult thing we ever had to do. What exactly does one say to someone they never met? Please don’t hold it against us that we are not the poetic type of people. We are the down to earth, up front; and speak our minds kind of people.
We’re going to try our best to convey to you how much this means to us.
This is the first time adopting for us and this will be our first child.
We want to thank you in advance for what we are about to receive.
We thank God in advance for what he is about to do for us. Just to let you know we are thanking him now, also. You are in our prayers.
We got married on May the 15th. 1993. We still live in our first home and have been here for twelve years. We live in a small town in TN. Our house sits on four acres of land that’s a lot of room to run and play. We have a small dog (Trixie) and two cats (Baby girl and Addie). I have worked for a financial company for fifteen years and Mark is self-employed as a cabinet maker. His shop is right outside our house.
I am thirty nine and Mark will be forty two in March.
I lost my dad to cancer about six months before Mark and I started dating. My mom (Catherine) has lived with us now for about nine years.
Our house is currently undergoing a remodel. We are finishing out the basement. We are preparing our home for the baby.
We are building Mom her own living quarters and the baby’s room will be mom’s old one. It’s right next to ours.
I have a large tight knit family with a lot of aunts, uncles, and cousins. This means a lot of family reunions and getting together events i.e. holidays, Birthdays ect..
Marks family is the spread out all over the world kind of family. Mark has an older sister (Angela) that lives in North Carolina and his parents are divorced and they both remarried. His father (Major) and step mom (Anna) live five miles from us. Then there is our church family. They are the ones probably most excited about us adopting. I’m not saying that ours isn’t, but we are around our church family more than our own. This is to say that we do a lot of church functions i.e. V.B.S., Camp, missions, ect.
Mark and I like to do a lot of kid stuff even on our own, just earlier this month we went to the “Toby Mac winter wonder slam concert.” We hope to be going to the “Winter Jam concert” and others as well. We like to go to Nashville shores, to the aquariums in Chattanooga and Gatlinburg TN. We are planning to go to Holiday world this summer with the kids from church. We have just become the “Youth Directors” at our church. So we will be doing a lot more kid stuff. If at all possible we like to get away at least once a year and have some R-N-R even if it is just for the weekend.
We are looking forward to the day(s) that our child will have the opportunity to share in all of what we have to offer and we get to share in the dreams and aspirations of this new miracle of life.
We hope we get the chance to meet with you and talk about our future together. I hope we can answer any of your questions and or concerns.
Sincerely,
Mark and Nancy Hall
